The Compleat Strategist has been serving the gaming community since 1975. We sell board games, role-playing games, collectible card games, war games, miniatures, painting supplies, dice, toys, and more. We are well known for our vast inventory and the endless fun of browsing our overflowing shelves. If you are looking for a new game or an old favorite, we should be your first stop. We also host gaming events in our gaming space. One of our great pleasures is welcoming customers from across the United States and around the world to our midtown Manhattan location, around the corner from the Empire State Building, in the heart of New York City.

This is the OG NYC game Store - you can find adverts for this one in 1970s Dragon Magazines. It is just a block from the Empire State Building and is a must stop for the gaming enthusiast. The place is packed floor to ceiling with great stuff from all eras. A visit is always a treasure hunt for even the most well equipped gamer. There is a huge new release section in the front and for those less hobby game oriented, there is a large section in the back of classic games like chess and a big puzzle section as well.

Board games for the last-minute board game night and it’s the closest one to Hell’s kitchen. We got there with 30 minutes before they closed and honestly the staff was very helpful. We were able to find the game we wanted and a few new ones however, there were some games they did not have available that I wish they did. I would go back to buy more games. They were very helpful.
